Murakami’s novels are a revelation to me—he makes the bizarre seem natural. His
main character is a blank slate on which the story is written and who helps other
characters to find their stories—a young girl, an artist, a “sheep man”….and, maybe,
maybe...

Kara's Pick:
The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

Niffenegger does a wonderful job incorporating ordinary, every day moments into the
story of Henry and Clare’s unusual lives and romance. While Clare is the “one who
stays;” Henry spontaneously time travels. Since he cannot control when or where he
time travels, he finds himself traveling back and forth through his life, making
discoveries along the way. This story is complicated and thought-provoking.
